The Mt. Shasta Community Resource Center Board of Directors is comprised of a dedicated team of community members representing facets of our community. The board is all volunteer and legally responsible for ensuring the organization remains true to its mission, safeguards its assets and operates in the public interest.

Mike Rodriguez, Chair
Director, Mt. Shasta Parks & Recreation District
In 1973, Mike moved to Mt. Shasta from the San Joaquin Valley to become the first “full-time” Recreation Program Director at Mt. Shasta Recreation and Parks District. His heart and passion is people and providing recreational opportunities and facilities for all ages. In 1987-1988, he expanded his career to become the District Administrator for the Mt. Shasta, Weed and Dunsmuir Recreation and Parks Districts in southern Siskiyou County. As a Charter Board Member of the MSCRC, it has been Mike’s pleasure to work with the dedicated staff and committed board members in providing programs and services for our youth and families in the Mt. Shasta area.
Lorie Saunders, Vice-Chair
RN, Welcome Home Baby Program & Lactation Specialist
Lorie has been a Registered Nurse for forty years. She has specialized in working with mothers and their families and sees her commitment to the Resource Center as a natural partnership. It has been a joy to help found the Center and see it grow. She appreciates Mt. Shasta Community Resource Center’s open, welcoming philosophy and its desire to serve all members of our community, all ages and celebrating our diversity.
Ken Palfini, Treasurer
Business Owner
As a lifelong resident of Siskiyou County, Ken has always believed in giving back to the community. When his children were young it was through the youth sports programs in the area including baseball, soccer and skiing. Now Ken serves on the Weed City Council and the Mt. Shasta Community Resource Center board which encompasses the City of Weed as his way of giving.
Geneva M. Omann, Ph.D., Secretary
Retired College Professor
Geneva has lived in the Mt. Shasta area with her family for 13 years, after retiring from a career as a Biological Chemistry professor in research and teaching at the University of Michigan Medical School. She joined the Mt. Shasta Community Resource Center Board of Directors in April of 2013. Geneva has volunteered in a variety of local community activities and initiatives. Geneva grew up in a small rural town and values the unique opportunities we have here to build strong, healthy families and vibrant communities.
Norma Marsh, Member
Retired BHS Employee with Addiction Specialty
Born and raised in Mt. Shasta, Norma returned to live here in 1997 after 35 years living on the East coast. While working for Siskiyou County Behavioral Health as a clinician and Site Supervisor she participated in the formation of the Family Resource Center network. Being familiar with the challenges faced by those needing services in our large county, she recognizes the invaluable role played by the Family Resource Centers located throughout the County. Norma has served on the Mt. Shasta Community Resource Center board since 2010 and strongly supports their programs and activities.
