Literacy Promotion – To encourage and support the importance of creating a foundation of school success, language development and early learning, we distribute children’s books to local preschools and family child care homes as part of our monthly literacy promotion efforts. Books are provided with funding from First 5 Siskiyou and remind us to Read, Sing and Play EVERYDAY!

We participated in the 10th annual Read Across Siskiyou event on November 8, in partnership with First 5 Siskiyou, promoting the importance of early reading in children. Guest readers from across the County helped celebrate the event by reading a special book in local schools, child care settings and libraries with each child in the county taking home their very own copy.
Sign up your child today for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. Each month a new book will be mailed in your child’s name directly to your home as a FREE GIFT! All preschool children ages birth to five who are residents of Siskiyou County are eligible. Official registration forms are available at your local Resource Centers!
